This free Christchurch walking tour will start by meeting your friendly guide, Simon, at the Christchurch i-SITE. Tours depart 11.30am & 2.00pm, Mon – Sat.
From here you will complete a gentle loop walk around the City. This comprehensive and diverse tour will showcase all the highlights of Christchurch city. On this tour you will visit the: Old and New Cathedrals, Avon River, National Earthquake memorial, Canterbury Museum, Art Centre, Antigua Boat Sheds, 185 Chairs Memorial, Bridge of Remembrance, New Regent Street, Isaac Theatre Royal, City Council forecourt, new Christchurch library, and the Botanical Gardens. You will see local street art and the earthquake gap fillers. City central Christchurch is flat, so this tour is suitable for levels of fitness.
The tour will finish at the Botanical Gardens, very close to the i-SITE where you started. Simon will stick around to answer any further questions you have about the city and your time in New Zealand.
This tour is offered as a “free/pay what you think tour”. This allows you to decide what you think the tour is worth. Donations are accepted at the end of the tour.
